So I tried boiling with a viagra addition at 15min and my dip tube is still not performing well enough... :D

But seriously, I have a copper dip tube that is almost 2 inches higher up from the bottom than intended and hence I do not pick up as much of my wort as I would like.

What would be the best way to extend my dip tube? I figured I could solder an extension on but would JB weld be safe or something that doesn't require me to use a soldering gun I do not own?

if you don't want to solder, i'd suggest using a compression fitting, or you could add a short length of 1/2" silicone tubing

SILICONE TUBING! *facepalm*... That would still be fine if it is touching the bottom on a direct fire keggle yes?

Well, you don't want it touching the bottom else it will not flow, but close is fine.

I realize that but I figured worst case scenario would be if it did rest on the bottom so I was just curious.

Thanks guys! I think my problem is fixed now.
