Have you made a beer with whatever you had left over? I buy ingredients for recipes and end up with left overs. I just brewed a pale ale over the weekend with grains and hops i had laying around.

It was

8lbs Marris Otter
.5 Crystal 40L
.5 Crystal 60L
.5 Meladonian
.5 Vienna

forgot the additions (dont have my notes on me)
Used Citra and Simcoe hops.

Mangrovejack M44 Ale yeast

roughly 45 IBUs

Hope it comes out good.

I have made a couple of "clean out the grain bin" batches before. I can't remember what they were right now, but I'm glad the experiments worked out for me.

Definitely make one of these every 3 months or so, but I always make a smaller batch (1-3 gallons). Most are drinkable and on occasion one is really good.

I had a friend over one time that was interested in participating in a brew session to learn more about it. I had enough leftovers for us to brew up a 5 gallon batch and it worked out quite well. Based on the ingredients on hand I'd say it was an American style Pale Ale.
