So my brother and I brewed a couple batches of beer a few weeks ago and I have some left over hops in the fridge that I need to do something with. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on what I should brew with them, possibly a link to a recommended recipe?

I have roughly one ounce of each:
  • Amarillo
  • Willamette
  • Cascade
  • Chinook

A small disclaimer, this will be the 5th batch I've ever brewed so no AG recipes. Not quite ready for that yet =)

Thanks for your input, this brewnewb appreciates it!

Welcome to the Forums.

What types of beers do you like and what kinds have you done so far? It would give us some perspective on what to reccomend but you have a good selection of hops. Do you know % alpha for the hops?

I'f you've got an ounce of each, all you need is maybe 15# of Pale 2Row, around 1/4-1/2# melanodin malt, like 1/4# CaraPils and you could make a killer IPA.

American Brown Ale

5# Briess Gold DME
0.5# Crystal 60L
0.5# Chocolate Malt
0.25# Biscuit or Aromatic

OG: ~1.050

0.5 oz Chinook (13%AA) - 60
0.5 oz Willamette (5%AA) - 20
0.5 oz Willamette - Flameout

IBU: ~33

Simple!

Cheers,

Bob
