Howdy,

I can hear CO2 leaking on one of my kegs when I have the gas line connected. I have tried 2 different quick-connects, from 2 different lines, and it occurs with both, so I have narrowed it down to the poppet, as it only occurs with a connection attached.

Can anyone provide some guidance how to correct this?

Thanks!

You haven't said you found it with spraying star san on the area.....

Let's say it IS leaking there; tried a new o-ring? Tried some keg lube?

For Blind troubleshooting, Keg lube, o-ring, poppet in that order.

Or it's easier to find where the actual leak is coming from. And replce the gasket/poppet responsible to sealing that path. Dissasemble post. It'll be obvious what path coincides with each gasket.

I can hear it leaking, and when i move my finger around the bottom of the disconnect hear the pitch change. Is it unusual for it to only leak when connected?

OK, Henry and Pulse, it took a few minutes for your comments to sink in....Think I understand now!

Disassemble that post and to all of the following.
1: apply Keglube to the rubber part of the popet
2: replace the post ORing, apply keglube
3: replace the dip tube oring, apply keglube

My logic says..
If it does not leak with pressure in the keg and the QD is not attached, then the Diptube ORing and Popet are probably fine, and the Post ORing is probably the culprit.

The popet would only cause a leak when the QD is not attached.

The Post ORing should only cause a leak when the QD is attached.

diptube oring can leak whenever there is pressure in the keg weither the QD is conencted or not.

Hope that helps.

Thanks all, grabbing the parts today and will hopefully get it fixed up tonight!

If it's leaking with the QD on, but not when it's off, it can ONLY be the post ORING.

If the keg leaks with the QD off, it's either the poppet or diptube ORING but that would be obvious which it were.

Yep, post o-ring. Feel silly for asking the question, I had blanked that there was even one on there.. Oh well. It is fixed now, and thanks all for the responses.
