I have always hated that my fermenter bucket leaked co2, and that I could never watch fermentation. So when I brewed my last bach, I lubed the o-ring that is in the lid of the bucket with some keg lube. Worked like a charm!!! I hope this small discovery can help!
 
Over half my fermentations don't have airlock activity, and It's never bothered me one way or the other....beer gets made whether it bubbles or not.

But it's a good fix for those who do.
