Leaking Cornelius CO2 Regulator

I purchased a used dual-pressure Cornelius regulator for my keg system (apparently stripped from an Icee machine, was $50 on ebay). It worked well for a while, until I made a rookie mistake and let some beer flow back through the hose into the secondary regulator. It still worked for a while, but eventually started leaking CO2 from the weep hole on the secondary. I purchased and installed a rebuild kit, but it's still leaking the same.

So, I was looking online for a new secondary unit... I could get a cheap un-tested replacement part on ebay (several actually), or spend $50 for a new one. Neither seems like a great option, then finally I found a post on here from Chuggs talking about how you can use RTV sealant to help with this situation: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/co2-regulator-leak-127573/

Sealant sounds like a MUCH BETTER option, but the problem is that I'm a little unclear where to put the RTV sealant? I'd prefer to start sealing and see if that works (instead of spraying soapy water around), so where exactly would the sealant go?
