I am trying to get back into homebrewing and purchased a 5 gal rubbermaid cooler from home depot. when I took the spout off, I noticed the inside hole looked like an upside down Q. It is round but has an extra notch cut out of the top. The stock o ring covers the notch, but just barely. I won't be able to go back to home depot for a few days. Do they all come like that or does mine have a flaw? I went ahead and put it together but can not get it to stop leaking water into the insulation. I have no leaks outside. I even filled the gap with silicone caulk and let it sit overnight with no success. My setup is valve, 1/2" nipple, 4 washers, o ring, cooler, stock o ring, washer, fitting. Thank you in advance, any help will be appreciated.
