Hey all, I know it's short notice but are there any las Vegas breweries i need to check out while I'm there? We will be leaving tomorrow....thanks for any tips

Im going to suggest "The Pub" in the monticarlo. Over 400 beers on tap! There is also Sin City Brewing in the miracle mile, one of the malls on the strip

I was at the Monte Carlo back in 96 when they first opened and they had some good beer there. I am going to Vegas on Nov 9 to direct a national pool tourney at Bally's (tapleague.com) and I plan on trying to get to the Monte Carlo. Great bar as I recall.

Well, if you want a local beer geek's opinion, here it is:

Big Dogs Draft House is the best local brewery by quite a ways. Unfortunately right now their best beers are not available (War Dog and Alpha Dog). However, tomorrow (10/27/2011) night they will be having a tapping party for their new pumpkin ale. As they are the best brewery in town, I am a big fan. The ambiance isn't anywhere as cool as a California brewery/brewpub, but hey this is Vegas, we don't have culture here. The place should be hopping for the tapping.

Tenaya Creek and Joseph James are next on the ladder for beer brewed here, but Joseph James is just a brewery and not a pub. Joseph James does a tour every third Saturday of the month, so you will be missing that. I would skip the other breweries.

If you are looking for good beer bars, the best in town by far is Aces and Ales. Best craft beer in town, and on Monday they will be tapping DFH Bitches Brew.

The real secret in town is Wednesday nights at Khoury's Fine Wine and Spirits. We have a beer lover's get together from 6-9 at this very fine bottle shop. Bring something, or buy something off of the shelf to share. They have a serving license, so you can sit and drink, and a food truck will be there to serve some fine food to go with your beer. I just got done sharing a Cascade Brewing 2010 Kriek at Khoury's! Also had a 2008 Bouron County Stout that was delicious!

Here's an up to date answer that you will normally get if you were to post this on BA: http://beeradvocate.com/forum/read/4147351

Behind Bally's is supposed to be a giant beer event that runs every Thursday-Sunday. It was supposed to have started a couple weeks ago but it's been postponed. It might be up and running when you get there.

Yea I was going to suggest aces and ales as well. Or the freakin frog, they have a HUGE walk in with an insane ammount of beers. Both places are a little expensive but thats Vegas.

You have to go to Ellis Island. One long block off the strip behind planet Hollywood. Home of the $7 ny strip dinner - which includes a 20 oz beer! Old school. Love it!

I was there last weekend and got to try several from Tenaya Creek and Sin City Brewing, both of which had some pretty tasty offerings. Tenaya Creek's Nut Brown stands out in my fuzzy memory. The major downside of The Strip is that most casinos are BMC havens, with a few exceptions.
