I know if I use the WLP029 Kolsch yeast my lagers won't be true lagers. However, if I wanted to brew a bock or a Sam Adams boston Lager clone, how close would this yeast get me?

I have used it on a few batches and I personally love it. I'm hoping it can get me close so I don't have to worry about hassling with lager yeasts which I have struggled with.

The yeast isn't going to add significant flavor. You might be ok. Just remember to lager after a few days fermenting. SHould be fine.
