I've got my first lager happily bubbling away in the primary, where it will be for 3-4 weeks, then i will bottle as i've got no right-sized secondary yet.

Now my question, do i first leave the bottles at room-temperature for 10-14 days for carbing or do i lager them straight away and will they carb up that way?

Lagering is done in my cellar, which is 6-8 degrees celcius at all times(42-46 f)

I would probably give two to three weeks at room temp for carbing.

Then you can cellar or if you want, throw in a fridge.

I've been (in this order): 1. Fermenting 2. Lagering 3. Carbing. I don't know if that's the best practice though. Interested in hearing what others do.

I think you can do either. Kind of the age-old "bulk aging vs. not" argument.

had success bottle lagering the 2 lagers I have done (1 actual lager, the other a pseudo-lager)

did it that way partially to keep ferment vessels free for future brews, mostly because I didn't have room in the fridge to bulk lager

Thanks all.

I guess I will go with carbonation first, that way I can see the change week by week from lagering.
