Lactose - Shelf Life?

I'm sure its been asked before, but couldn't find answer after searching.

how long is lactose good for? I have a 1/2 lb. package that probably 6-8 months old. Is it still good...just thought I would ask before buying more.

Since it's simply milk sugar, I would think it would last a long, long time. Probably years, unless it got moisture in it and got too clumpy to use.

Reviving an ancient thread: I had packed a couple pounds of lactose in sealed bags with some brewing equipment that ended being stored for a few years. Dairy for Global Nutrition suggests a one year shelf life. I threw it out.
