Does anyone use liquid thermometers in mashing?
Does anyone know their accuracy?
For example, I used this one
Spirit Filled Thermometer
for mashing this weekend. It is partial immersion, and fairly fast responding when immersed up to the measurement ring. (You just have to make sure your mash is well stirred.)
If they are as accurate as I suspect they are then I have found the solution to my inaccurate thermometer troubles.
Does anyone have any tricks to keep from breaking them?
