L6-30 Outlet Style: This vs. That - Worth the extra Money?

Wonder if anybody can suggest why spending twice as much on the latter flanged outlets is worth while? I've seen builds with both types... What do people suggest?

The flanged outlet covers the hole in the panel. Otherwise you have to cut a really good hole or it looks bad. (That's the only reason I can think of.)
That's a very good price on the normal one; I don't think the price difference will usually be that much.

I decided to go with twist lock plugs and hang SO cord from the panel with cable glands partially due to expense and also because of space concerns on the bottom of the panel with the large flanges.
