Looking for a way to reduce the growth of slime floating on the top of my bottles after I bottle. I don't notice any of the store bought brands doing this. Is there something I can do to minimize this? I understand that sediment in the bottle is natural, but I'm looking to limit the slime floating on the top. It's plops into the glass every time I pour a fresh bottle.

You can put it in the fridge immediately after bottling, or pasteurize it.

I just scoop out the baby scoby from the top of the glass after I pour, or just drink it.

Dave's Original grows a SCOBY although that is the only kind I noticed that occurring. I imagine adding fruit juice, ginger, etc. promotes less favorable conditions for the SCOBY to grow. FWIW I just drink the mini SCOBY but my wife prefers to remove hers from the glass with a spoon.
