trying to start some more trouble on here again.

this freaks me out. why why why?

in canda they always eat mayo on their fries but thats canada so it makes sense. they barely do anything right other than poutine (just kidding gravy on fries is almost as bad as mayo on fries)

who else ruins there dogs with the red stuff and puts mustard on hamburgers?

i cant be the only one who thinks this is sacrilege.

sorry bored again this helps me get through my workday.

Perhaps a better discussion is why are modern jobs 70% BS, 20% demeaning, and 10% useful?

OT: I'm fully onboard with letting people enjoy their food however they see fit.

By the way, what's wrong with mustard on a burger? If McDonalds is doing it, it's pretty basic, right? Unlike mayo and ketchup, at least mustard brings something to the party.

didnt mean to start that much trouble.
Yes you did!
..but hey; I've been enjoying your unique posts. :)
For what it's worth, I usually just have salt, pepper and malt vinegar or ketchup on my fries
on burgers; ketchup, mustard and pickle relish or HP or A1 (as well as lettuce, cheese, bacon, onion)
on dogs (only the good beef ones mind you); mustard, ketchup, pickle relish and lots of onions.
locally, places that put mayo on burgers were rare but it's become a lot more common in the last 20 years...as an old curmudgeon though I personally detest mayo on anything at alll ever.
:mug:🌭🍔🍟

For me...
On a "dog" - no-bean chili, diced onion, and yellow mustard is the ultimate.

On a burger - catsup, mustard, pickle, onion, lettuce, cheddar, and the bun should be toasted. In fact, I'm having one for dinner tonight, just like that. Maybe two.
I'll have that dog, Bongo. Good stuff.

I like diced onions on the bottom, then you put the dog on top of the onion, run a line of mustard, then kraut on top. Nothing fancy, but it's a solid dog.

After the 5th inning, those condiments are looking a bit worse for the wear and there's a lot more flies than there were before the first pitch, so mustard is fine.

You're not an old curmudgeon, you've just lived long enough to know better.

What does it bring aside from goopiness? Nobody ever said, "Yeah, this is nice but I want it more goopy."

really depends on the quality of the hotdog or burger. if the dog is down right terrible i will throw some mustard. if the burger is dry then little of both. usually the case at some highschool sporting event.

at home never use mustard or ketchup just keep it in the fridge for someone else kinda like case of busch lattes down in the basement for a year.

They're not the only ones to eat fries with mayo
To be clear: We Don't! I'd only ever heard of a handful of doucebag hipsters in Montreal doing that sometime this century....probably grandchildren of former FLQ who don't know the difference between politics and fasion and deluded themselves that it was somehow a statement on their national-identity. :p
I forgot to mention: smokies or hot-italian sausage on a bun with tons of mustard and onions!!
:bigmug:

They're not the only ones to eat fries with mayo, Belgium and France for two more. We're not talking Hellman's or, heaven forbid, Miracle Whip.
It's gotta have the tangy zip of Miracle Whip. Mayo is spunk. I'll die on this hill. The 'Whip needs to be mixed with relish, mustard and ketchup, though. Fry sauce, indeed!!!!

Can confirm. I've spent months over the years, cumulative, trout bumming my way through BC and parts of Alberta and it's only ever been malt or ketchup. To my disappointment, gravy was never an option. I was actively looking for the gravy and they didn't have any.

They did have Player's Navy Cut, though.

On a dog, homemade zucchini relish, or chili with cheese. Homemade mustard is good here as well..
Burger gets mayo, preferably on the bun then that gets grilled, tomato, pickle, cooper cheese, lettuce, thick cut bacon. Fries get malt vinegar. Period.

Hot dogs, hamburgers and fries are all delicious. Especially with mayo, mustard and onions. Fries are delicious with gravy. Ketchup is a kid’s condiment. Though I do use some in my meatloaf.

You are all doing fine until you go off the rails. Mayo is a no-no. You top yours, and I'll top mine...

I had a freshman college dorm room mate that could not handle the concept of mayonnaise, or anything that involved eggs that weren't nearly cremated

We mainly put salt and vinegar on our chips, but ketchup is ok. My wife likes mayo on her chips but I hate it. I’ve not had a hotdog in 50 years but I eat the occasional burger with mustard and ketchup when we have a barbecue.

I prefer spicy or German mustard on dogs along with onions and shredded cheese. I just had Brats on the BBQ with mustard. The burgers get ketchup, mustard and onions with cheese. If cooked on the BBQ just BBQ sauce on the burgers with onions mixed in. For fries' ketchup and since I live in the BBQ capital, we also like BBQ sauce on our fries.
I was stationed in Germany in the 80s and they like mayo on their Pommes frites, not for me.

Of course everyone’s tastes are subjective. Isn’t this the point of the post?
Just stating my preference.
I’ll certainly provide ketchup as a condiment when I have guests.
I went to a Taco Bell with a guy from New Jersey. He ordered tacos, they asked him if he wanted sauce. He asked if they had ketchup. We had a good laugh.

We have to keep both yellow and brown mustard and Mayo and Miracle whip on hand for some reason.

....I miss real cigarettes. :(

I've traveled quite extensively through France, Belgium and Canada. While I can attest to the veracity of 'mayo on fries' in the first two, I'm having difficulty remembering the latter. As to poutine, "Yes, please."

But the best condiment + beer has to be spicy senf mustard on a brat and hard roll, altbier in hand, walking by the Rhine in Dusseldorf. Fries not included, nor needed.

I don't mind ketchup on a hot dog, but I prefer relish or no condiments. I only use mustard on a burger if there is also ketchup. Can't do only mustard!

Ok. My point here was less about Canada eating fries with mayo than it was the fact that plenty of people do. And it's clearly not objectively disgusting. If you don't like it, get off it. Let me eat my frites in peace.
