Hey fellas!

Been lurking here on HBT for a while, finally got a membership and all that. 'Bout time says I.

Anyways, I kegged for the first time today and was wondering if there was anything other than racking into the corny keg (washed and sanitized of course). It is still going to be 2-3 weeks before I can get my kegorator going and am storing the keg in a cool dark place.

Any suggestions (over and above getting my kegorator up and going ASAP)?

you also want to put a little CO2 into the keg and purge the headspace of air.

+1! I'd purge it once at least and hit again. This way you get rid of the oxygen and leave a nice blanket of CO2 to protect your beer, and ensure you lid is seated properly. Just let your keg sit and age some more till you get your kegerator up and running, your beer will only get better!
