I purchased an older outside perlick kegerator from craigslist. The gas tank is on the outside of the unit with a line coming into the unit. When I purchased the unit there was a single value inside the unit that I attached the keg gas line to. I decided to make the kegerator a two tap system. So I switched the value to a Y value. But when a keg is empty I have to leave the keg hooked up. Not sure if I am wasting gas by doing this but I have a 20lb tank so I havent noticed. My question is I buy a WYE air distributor could I unhook the other keg and only have one keg attached. I want to buy a half keg of Troegs nugget nectar. My favorite beer! Here is the WYE device I want to use.

Thanks in advance,

yep you can do that or you could even go with an in-line check valve on both existing lines. The Y valve though is probably the best solution so you don't have as many spliced connections.

Or if you want to do it really right, just get a two product regulator

If you're going to add more product later, buy the 3 or 4 product regulator.

The Wye that was linked has shut-offs and check valves.
It's pretty clearly exactly what was needed...

Cheers!
