I purchased a used Haier kegerator to get started into kegging. The only thing I have done was swap out the single tower for a triple tower. I can just squeeze three cornies in it, but the door closes fine. I noticed they got cold initially, but slowly warmed as the coils built up ice. I thawed everything out and cooled back down. I thought it may have been to me opening & closing the door too much and working on the lines. It did it again so I thawed it back out and tried sealing up everywhere lines pass through back. It lasted two weeks and iced up again. I never opened the door so I know that's not an issue. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if this thing is a piece of junk. It gets plenty cold when it's working right. Should there be a defrost cycle on it?

Thanks

Sounds like you have a refrigerant leak on the system.
Also look and make sure the fan where the compressor is is working

You may be lucky and have a charging port on your compressor, if so and it wont be cheap depending on the refrigerant, you could get a HVAC/R guy to check the charge.

I put a bright light inside and close the door. I found I had a noticeable gap on the door seal that is likely allowing it to draw in warm air. Now I just need to figure a way to seal it.

You can form a gasket in place. Grease one surface with petroleum jelly. Apply a bead of silicone sealer to the other. Shut the door and leave it alone for a few days. Open up, clean off the grease and you are done. I've done this for auto weather stripping, no reason it won't work in this case.

I have used foam draft excluder before that works sell, the stuff that goes round your door that is self adhesive it comes in different thicknesses
