Can I keg a beer and then bottle it if I want to take a 12 pack somewhere. Could I do this or just bottle from the start.

I use a small piece of copper tube that fits perfectly into my picnic tap. I know some use a cut piece of racking cane. Same idea. Fill from the bottom to reduce foam.

Growlers are good for taking home brew on the go too. Like kegging, it is basically just filling one vessel. However it won't keep as long IMHO.

I use 16oz, 20oz, 1 liter and 2 liter PET bottles to carry beer around when I don't want to lug some kegs.
