I built a copper inner tube and plastic outer wort cooler, but I didn't really think ahead about how to keep the copper from turning green. How to you keep the copper in these coolers in good condition??

I circulate hot PBW solution through my chiller, and other gear as part of my CIP procedure.

The copper tube inner surfaces stays relatively bright following this cleaning method.

The wort itself is acidic and will clean the copper right up. Of course you end up with some copper ions in your beer but that will not hurt you or cause tastes. As long as you flush and dry it after use it should never get green.
