i'm visiting in-laws in kalamazoo in may. i've heard bells is excellent. any other brewery, brewpub or good bar recs?

Bells makes great beer but I am not a fan of thier pub. I would rather just buy a couple six packs.

The Olde Penninsula is a brewpub with good beer and great food.

I have a book on MI brewies and looking in it I see that there are some "close". All depends on how close you think close is.
I would say that within a 30 minute drive there are 7.
1. Bells
2. Olde Peninsula Brewpub & Restaurant
3. Arcadia
4. Dark Horse
5. The Old Hat
6. Middle Villa Inn
7. Kraftbrau brewery ( one block from Bells)

Within an hour drive there is
1. Saugatuck Brewing
2. New Holland Brewing
3. Old Boys Brewhouse.
4. Founders
5. Grand Rapids Brewing
6. Hideout Brewing
7. Schmohz Brewing

Olde Peninsula has some great brews. Bravo's has started brewing as well and I've heard nothing but great reviews.

What kind of bars do you like? There are plenty to choose from.
