Im brand new to this and looking to get a decent little setup. I plan on buying a turkey fryer to do my boiling. Here's the kit I'm looking at from my LHBS.

6.5 gallon fermenting bucket with drilled and grommeted lid, 5 gallon glass carboy, 6.5 gallon bottling bucket with spigot, 2 airlocks, drilled stopper, red head bottle capper, 24" curved racking cane with tip, spring tip bottle filler, 5 foot of 3/8" tubing, carboy brush, stick-on thermometer, sanitizer, priming sugar, 60 bottle caps, book - "True Brew Handbook"

$79.95

Does this look like a good deal? Are there any other essentials I'll need in terms of equipment? Hydrometer maybe? Thanks!

That looks about right, you've got everything you need, make sure you get a good kettle and spoon for the boil though. I definitely suggest a hydrometer also. Also a couple airlocks. Welcome to the HBT!

Also an auto syphon would definitely help. And don't forget something to put the beer in (bottles or keg)!
