Hi all,
Have used the site quite a bit lately for research and thought I would finally register. Have been brewing for about 3 years now and switched to all grain last year. In the last 2 months our club has brewed 10 five gallon batches (in 2 sessions, 4 in one day and 6 in another). I typically brew as part of a group, we call ourselves the BYOB club (Brew Your Own Beer) and our website is www.brewyourownbeer.org The latest brews have been ingredient kits from midwest consisting of Ferocious (Surly Furious clone), Oldcastle, Lawnmower de saison, Red Hood ESB, Honey Nut Brown, Bavarian Wheat, and Boundary Waters Wheat. We are just scratching the surface of the brewing science. We are just a bunch of manufacturing guys that are probably way too interested in the equipment and efficiency of the brewing process and are now going to start understanding the methods and science behind great tasting beer. Our equipment currently consists of 2 keggles (another one in process of being converted), 2 10-gallon coolers (and a 5 gallon), a couple wort chillers (currently fabricating one like Jamil's) and the rest of the misc. junk (all gravity fed currently). Looking at going electric on the HLT and MLT with a RIMS type system as money allows. If you are near Wright County MN let me know and maybe we can get together an brew a few. Or at least drink them.
