So I decided to add about a half oz of juniper (spontaneous addition not in the recipe) berries to my mash last week and yesterday when I racked the beer to its secondary fermenter I couldn't really taste it. Should I have used more? Or add it into the boil next time maybe? Or possibly cut back on the hops? Any advise on using herbs in beer or as a hop substitute would be appreciated.
