Weird stuff. This is my Southern Star Buried Hatchet Stout clone. It is a fantastic beer, 9.2% and with great body. My keg is about 6 inches or so from being kicked when all of a sudden my tap won't pour (30 lbs on nitro). After some diagnosis and disassembly I find that I have a non-soluble, rubbery material that is clogging the tap, line, QC and down into the dip tube. This keg was perfect up to this event. The sister keg had no issue. After removing this 'flubber' all seems back to normal. It was as if some of the beer polymerized into this stuff. It was a perfectly clean keg when filled. This stuff was odd!!!! Look at the picture. We've all had keg sludge when the keg is about to kick, but this was really rubbery and I was able to pull a long strand out of the dip tube. The grain bill included wheat, barley and oats along with the usual base grains. Anyone have this happen before?

Max Headroom was a favorite show here :mug:
And I'm old enough to remember Flubber :)

That looks like a much, much larger version of what I might find rimming my stout faucet spout if I've been neglectful.
Nothing alien about it, it's just dried stout...

Cheers!

I had a milk stout once that seemed to have something similar in the fermenter. I didn't try to grab it so I'm not sure if it was the same consistency, but it had this ropy appearance and I'd never seen anything like it before.

The beer was absolutely delicious. No signs of infection or any problems whatsoever.

Still have no clue what it was, but it was also a stout, so maybe there's something similar to what you have.

Might not be able to drink it, but it looks like you may have invented BeerGum. How long does the flavor last once you start chewing?
