I wish they still made Y2K in 4x 12oz and annually. This beer is phenomenal at 6+ years.

Drinking a 2011 CW BBBW tonight. Also held up very nicely. Just a hint of the good oxidation.

another year gone by. tobacco still present in the nose but pretty much gone in the taste now. it's gotten more bitter? almost cocoa-like bitterness, even get some chocolate hints with some vigorous swishing. burnt sugar, molasses. fig

Charleville Brewing BA Barleywine from last year

Hoping they release this again this year, plenty of toffee and caramel but there's a nice balancing bitterness as well.

Can you imagine yourself saying this in 2013 when you joined TalkBeer?

While I can't stand most trends, and can be a curmudgeonly bastard (see NE IPA), more well made Barrel Aged Barleywine is never a bad thing.

Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine has been the most amazing hidden gem for years, and if we get more **** like that at an affordable price point I'm all for it.

People are starting to get wise. I was only able to buy 4 four packs of CW and it was mostly gone within a couple weeks. That **** used to sit.
