I brewed the Blind Faith IPA from page 96 of Beer Captured. It has been kegged for about 2 weeks now.

It is so good I can't stop drinking it! I am drinking about a six-pack a day. The only hope I have is that the keg is about empty. That will be a sad day!

This is the best brew I've had to date.

This really isn't helping my physique. I'm gonna have to run about 8 miles a day to justify this habit. I don't mind running, but 8 miles is ludicrous!

Just put the keg in a very hard to reach place, you know, make an obsticle course for yourself so every beer you get will use up about 300 calories.

Then I'll just hurt myself on the 5th or 6th one. By then, there will be no reasonable caution!:rockin:

You got me all excited to try this one.....how did the "taste rating" only get a 35?

Uh... that's the recipe default. I didn't update it and haven't had it judged. I judged a beer for the first time last night and gave it a 41 without really knowing what I was doing. Then after the fact, I heard that scoring a 35 to 40 is really excellent and scoring 45 to 50 is unheard of (on a legitimate contest score sheet by legitimate sanctioned judges). So, though 35 is not anything but what the program sets for all recipes unless I change it, don't let it discourage you.

It really is the best IPA I have ever had based on my personal taste preference. Better than Broken Halo, Bridgeport, Stone, Longhammer and others I have made myself.

I think im gonna pick up the stuff to make this today, however i can only do a partial boil because i do not have a large enough pot yet. What changes do you recomend.

The actual printed recipe in the book is a partial boil goes more like this...

Heat 1 gal water to 155F
Steep grains (crystal and chocolate - I used black patent) for 30 min, holding at 155F
Rinse the grains with 1 gal of 150F water

Bring water to boil and add malt extracts and bittering hops
Add water to achieve 2.5 gal total

Continue boil adding hops at their designated times

Cool wort and add water to reach 5.25 gal total, etc...

Didnt pick the stuff up today, just way to bust with school at the moment to worry about it. But i will brew this in the future, I love me some IPA!!!
