It’s been a loooong time

So, it’s been almost two years since my last brew day. I never used to understood how people would talk about “not having time” to brew. Now i get it.

I’m going to do a double batch of a stout. Half I’m going to leave alone and the other half I’m going to add into a whiskey 3 year old whiskey barrel.

Now the barrel has been sitting for 3 years. I was going to soak the outside in starsan and the inside with water whiskey mix, so it would swell back up.

Any suggestions, comments, opinions will be welcomed.

Does the barrel smell nice inside? I'd be a little surprised if there's not mold or other nasty growing in there. Be prepared for wild microbes.
