Is this normal for a Carboy Cap?

So I just got my first carboy cap and it looks like this... I don't feel like this is normal or at least I don't think I will be using carboy caps if it is normal. It has lots of places for bacteria to hide.

In other words, is this part of a bad batch?

Mine are kinda rough under there too. Should be fine if properly sanitized. Wash well with PBW after use, sanitize with Star San before next use.
 
All mine have those little pockets too. Probably something from the manufacturing process. Never had an issue with rinsing it off after use and sanitizing with star san.
 
Thanks... just seems really low quality to have your finished product look like that. Guess I'll give it a try.
