I added it to the black tea and sugar5 days ago but this is the current state of the Scoby.
Is it alright?
Is it Yeast or mold?
What IS that white membrane?

This is one of the scobys,the other one just looks like a classical pancake.
Is this one dead?

I find I have best success with my new scoby growing pretty if you do not touch the jar during the entire fermentation process. That membrain thing looks like a new scoby. Just don’t touch the jar and stop looking at it. That’s just my opinion. Always taste to make sure it tastes good and not moldy or rancid and just keep brewing! Good luck!
