Hello everyone, I just started my first mead about 6 days ago, and about every 2 days ive been shaking it to get the yeast stirred around...i realize that youre not supposed to do that once fermentation has began. Before i started i washed everything with bleach and water and rinsed all the bleach out well. My question is has the shaking ruined my mead? I dont mind if its not going to taste as good because id rather not waste it, but will it make me sick? How do i know if its going to turn to vinegar? Right now it smells sort of like if you mixed red wine and a light beer, is that normal?

Your mead is likely fine.
However, a word of caution...shaking the must after say, day 5 would not be recommended. Giving it a light swirl, not shake, would be a better option.
Happy meading 😎
