Just kidding.

I know it'll turn out fine.

I planned on making a kolsch.

The mash turned out great. I hit the temps perfectly. My pre-boil gravity was spot on, but everything went downhill from there.

The recipe called for Mt. Hood as the bittering hop and 0.5 oz Saaz at 15 minutes and 0.5oz at 5 minutes. I put in the saaz at the start of the boil and about 45 minutes later, I realized that I had forgotten to use the hop spider and also realized that I didn't put in the Mt. Hood, so in that goes and restart the clock. That was a 1 hour 45 minute boil.

I forgot to take an OG reading but the target was 1.045 and according to beersmith, the OG is right around 1.063. Since the Saaz was such a low amount and low alpha, it didn't really contribute much to the IBU's.

We'll see how it turns out in a month or so.

I'm not too worried. This was a test batch on my new e-kettle and I was using 2-year old grains.
