I just made my electric tire pump/compressor into a vacuum pump. I tested the HG with a guage and it read 27hg. Is that to much for degassing? I read through a lot of threads on this and opinions vary. But I think the majority say 20 is safe. But I'm not sure how I would reduce the suction on this.

Add a tee and bleed in a little air through a valve. If you have these things hanging around to use. 27" will pull out all the excess gas and alcohol if more than room.
