irish moss help needed

'bout a half teaspoon in the boil. I usually don't even measure mine. Just stick the tip of a knife in the jar and get a bit out.
 
I add it in everything (haven't made a hefe yet though) light or dark just because it's part of my process. Probably doesn't do much for me in my stouts and porters, but it's just habit. If I don't use it in my stout, I might forget to put it in my APA. :D
 
.5 tsp - 1.0 tsp .......... somewhere between 15 and 5 minutes left in the boil

Irish moss is a hard thing to mess up. I accidentally used a tablespoon in a 5 gallon batch. Didn't seem to have any negative effects.
 
for beers like stouts (especially the darker ones) i don't see the point.

Stouts are supposed to be dark but clear (clarity and color are different things).

Clarity's less noticeable in a stout, though; if a bit of haze there doesn't bother you, skip it. I use it in them, myself.
