Hey everyone,

I just finished coming up with an IPA recipe using nothing but a pen, calculator, and Ray Daniels book "Designing Great Beers". So...I was hoping that anyone with BeerSmith or something wouldnt mind plugging my recipe in and seeing what it says.

And any other critiques are appreciated.

5.5 gallons
1.060 OG
Estimated 65% effeciency

#13.39 Rahr 2-Row
#.74 Victory

.5 oz Cascade @ 60 (12.8 IBUs)
1 oz Citra @ 20 (29.8 IBUs)
.5 oz Chinook @ 5 (4.9 IBUs)
.5 oz Citra @ 5 (4.7 IBUs)
.5 oz Citra @ 0 (4.7 IBUs)

Correction of gravity is 1.05 if that helps anyone

As you can probably tell, I'm going for a nice fruity IPA. I havent decided on the yeast yet, I'll probably experiment with that a tad.

Again, any critiques would help!

Hope this helps.

I would switch the Chinook and Cascades, you'd have better IBU that way and would keep the floral/fruity notes from the Cascades where they should be, in the flavor and aroma. Cascade + Citra sounds like a good combo to me.

Otherwise, should turn out well, I think any good American yeast would work well, 1056/001/US-05. Above mash of 152 is a good suggestion.

Let us know, this sounds like a good beer.
