Okay, we got a new beer at work, Rahr & Sons Stormcloud IPA. It's an IPA, but it's made with all German ingredients: malt, hops, and yeast. It's interesting, but very light for an IPA. I like it alright, but it is lacking in the flavor department.
Still, it gave me an idea. Could you brew an IPL, India Pale Lager? Has anyone ever tried this? Any theory or experience with the flavor? I don't do lagers yet, but I thought it as an interesting idea, although I suppose you could apply this to any standard ale style, like porters, browns, amber ales, etc. Is it just a pointless idea? Ales and ales, and lagers are lagers, and never shall the two overlap?
