As promised here is how you Install Linux and BeerSmith 2.3 on Chromebook.

1. Enable Developer mode on Chromebook

a.Press Esc Refresh and Power button

b.You will see a screen with a yellow orange exclamation point. Press Ctrl+D

c.You will see a screen saying “To turn OS verification OFF, press ENTER.” Press ENTER to enable developer mode.

d.You will see a screen saying “OS verification is OFF.” You can either press Ctrl+D or wait a few seconds to boot your Chromebook into Developer Mode.

WARNING:Enabling (and Disabling) Developer Mode Will Wipe Your Chromebook, Google Does NOT Offer Support For Developer Mode, Developer Mode will leave you vulnerable to attacks.
2.Download the CROUTON scripts http://goo.gl/fd3zc (It should download to your Downloads folder – do NOT rename it in any way).
3.In Chrome, hit Ctrl+Alt +T to get the Crosh command line interface (CLI).
4.In the “Crosh” window, type shell and press to get a bash shell.
5.Type the following command sudo sh –e ~/Downloads/crouton –r trusty –t audio,core,gtk-extra,keyboard,x11,chrome,cli-extra,extension,lxde
This will take about 30 minutes, depending on your Chromebook and internet speed.
This installs Trusty (Ubuntu 14.04)
6.Enter a username, enter a password, re enter your password
7.To start Linux Press Ctrl+Alt +T, type shell, type sudo startlxde
8.To Switch between Chrome and Linux press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Back and Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Forward
Note :Linux may stop working after a Chrome OS update to fix this Press CTRL ALT T, type*shell, and type sudo sh –e ~/Downloads/crouton –u –n trusty
LXDE Linux navigates similar Windows XP
9. Click the “Start” Button

11. Navigate to http://beersmith.com/download-beersmith/
12. Download Linux 2.3.12 Ubuntu 14.04 LTS – 64 bit

13. After Downloading navigate to the Downloads Folder

14.Right Click the Beersmith file and Select GDebi Package Installer, then click install package.
