Inline thermometer and Therminator

I am considering adding a Blichmann inline thrumometer and have the system set up with 1/2" ID tubing. Has anyone ever used 1/2" tubing into the Therminator and 3/8" tubing out? I would be controlling the flow out of the pump with a ball valve and never running it fully open, so do you think this method would work?

Answered my own question. I emailed Blichmann and he said it works fine - he does the same thing.
