I never wanted to be THAT GUY but i’ve gotta ask...is this infected?
Bought a keezer from a buddy and he included a few kegs of beer with in. The beer in question is a maple barrel aged stout around 14%. Hes a proficient brewer with a good track record and is religious on sanitation. He bought a barrel with a friend and collab’d on a stout to age in it.
His friend managed the barrel and fermentation process.
Unknown yeast type and no other adjucts besides the maple flavoring.
Poured plenty of beer out to clear the lines and had a few glasses- no weird taste or smell. It actually tastes spectacular!
However, the most recent glass has a scoby like jello blob that was at the bottom. I poured about a 1/8 of a gallon into a jug and took another picture of the top.
What in the hell is this jello stuff??

It crossed my mind but i cant imagine why he’d want to use any finings for this thick of a stout.
