What is the point of this? Just to watch the beer drain to the fermenter before seeing it drain to the fermenter? I'd understand if it were glass and could withstand boiling temps for recirc.
 
Maybe if you have all metal piping, you could put this in after the chiller to see the sort coin through. Or if you have an online oxygenator, you can see the bubbles.
