If i plan to move to All-grain in the near future would a 30' immersion chiller suffice or would it be best to buy larger? This would be for 5, maybe 10 gallon batches.

Thanks,

Dave

I just did my first full boil with a 25' chiller and already have the copper to make a 50' one. My tap water is very cold and it still took almost 30 minutes.

My 25' is fine for 5g batches. It takes 20 minutes or so, but that is no big deal. Gives me the time to get the carboy ready. If you do 10g batches, you will want a larger one. but if are going to spend the money for the larger one, get a CFC instead. Not that much more $, and really what you should have for that size batch. Bobby_M made a how-to if you want to make one, also.
