One of my family members is having a gathering for about 60-70 people and asked if I would brew up some beers for the occassion. Whats a good all around beer that would be a crowd pleaser? I'm thinking maybe two types maybe even a cider and a beer. Also how much do you think I will need? My biggest constraint is I only have until november 6th. Any suggestions?????

Wheat beers seem to be popular at the moment. If I was going to make two, I think I'd go with a wheat beer and an APA. Cider is also a good idea but I know nothing about making them and don't know if the time constraint is a problem.

Does the gathering have a theme?

How many gallons are you going to need? I'd def get started ASAP!

Lighter beers; Centennial Blonde, Witbier, Alt, Mild

Pales are usually not too long either. Ed's Haus Pale Ale is popular.

Cider is good, and I like mine with low attenuation, and a bit tart and sweet and fizzy.

Some people who are not good beer drinkers might be put off by darker beers.

an Ordinary Bitter should be a crowd pleaser... plus a one week fermentation time is not unusual for them.
