Hydrometer reading

I brewed my second batch, and after not taking a reading the first time, I wanted to make sure I did this time. Looking at the pictures, how would I determine my OG? Thanks for the help here.

Reading through the meniscus in the 1st pic,I'd say it's 1.044 OG. The other pic is just a gestimate of ABV that we generally ignore.

Thank you, it seems as if it is right where it should be. The instructions in the kit said it would be 1.043 - 1.045. Thanks again, happy brewing.
