Small-time extract hobbiest here. After taking a couple years off from brewing, we're jumping back in and stepping up our game a little bit.

I was only trying to refresh my memory on the process when I started poking around here and I gotta say, it has been less a refresher and more a modernization crash course.

welcome. My BIL and SIL live over by diamondhead. He still says the best wedding present he got was the homebrew kit my wife and I bought him! I'm sure you'll run into him at the only LHBS on the island!
