Doing my 2nd all grain brew today. I usually don't follow a recipe I just look at a few that sound interesting then throw something together. Here's what I'm thinking-

14lb Pilsner 2row
1lb Dingemans cara 45
.5lb Special Roast
.5oz Columbus pellet hops 14.2% 60min
1oz Centennial leaf 10.1% 15
1oz Cascade leaf 7.4% 2min

Any thoughts?

5 gallons strong pale ale ish? I'm still new to brewing. Already mashing right now but I could rearrange the hopping if you think I should.

Mash temp and yeast will also influence the taste.
What are you doing for those?

Mash temp was 158 and for yeast I'm using safale-us05 dry ale yeast. Says it's for American ales with a clear crisp end palate.

I brewed a pale ale today, as well.

My mash temp was 154, which is pretty middle of the road. That will give me a beer with a pretty good amount of fermentable sugar and a little body (from the unfermentable dextrins). In comparison your beer will have a lot more body from more dextrins because of your higher mash temp; your final gravity will likely be higher than mine, again because of the dextrins. I'm NOT saying your beer won't be good, just a little heavier than your average pale ale (which you said you were hoping for).

I'd drink it. :mug:

Let me see if I can get my (fully plagiarized) recipe together to share with you.

This isn't my recipe, but it also isn't Tasty's APA (Google that if you want his recipe) since I made some changes.

As I mentioned earlier, I mashed at 154. I pitched WLP001, but I've used US-05 before and liked the beer it made.

Keep us posted on how your beer turns out.
