I've read a few post about using gelatin as a clearing agent if you for got to use Irish Moss in the boil; Exactly when & how would I go about doing it?

While on the subject...since I don't use a secondary, can I rack onto both gelatin AND priming sugar in my bottling bucket, let it sit a few hours for the gelatin do it's thing, and then bottle? If so, what is the longest time I could let it sit before bottling?

If you're not using a secondary, add gelatin, stir gently, then let it rest for 5 hours.

Then add priming sugar (boiled in water) to bottling bucket, rack beer on top of that, and bottle as normal.

Personally, I find Irish Moss to be much easier to use. Add in with 15 minutes left in the boil, then forget about it. That's just my opinion though.

Thanks!! The kits at my LHBS come with both Irish moss and gelatin. I figure since I have the gelatin I might as well use it.
