Hey all,

I just bottled my 1st batch! It's a Brewer's Best Red Ale. It's been fermenting for 4 weeks and 3 days. Bottling took me about 2 hours (with cleanup) and it was quite a mess.

I filled 24 22 oz bottles with headspace of around 1.75-2 inches if I had to guess. My question is, now that I have my beer bottled and it needs to sit for 3 weeks or so, how should I do that? The 22 oz bottles came in 12 bottle cases so I just put them back in the boxes (tops open). They are sitting
on the floor in the closet with a garbage underneath and one on top of them (in case of bottle bombs).

Is that safe/good practices? I will check them periodically for bottle bombs.
Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Just leave the bottles alone for three weeks in your "bomb shelter", and you'll be ok

I will check them periodically for bottle bombs.

No need - if a bottle explodes, you'll definitely know. They are called bottle bombs for a reason.
