How to split a gas line with no LHBS?

I don't have a LHBS and need to split a gas line to add one more tap. I'm planning on getting/building a manifold eventually, but need something that will work for the meantime. I'm using some stainless tees that I ordered online at the moment, but can't seem to find anything locally. Is there anything else that will work that the big box stores would have?

I use cheap-o plastic T-shaped hose barbs from the local hardware store. They cost less than a dollar..
