I am new to beer brewing, so my apologizes if asking something obvious.
I got Bielmeier hydrometer that has scale from 0 to 20. Assuming I measure at 20 Celsius and no corrections are needed.(according to my hydrometer)
How to read this scale from 0 - 20? I mean 0 is water, what does other values mean? It seems there is no standard for those scales, so I got confused.

Thanks
Me.

I believe it measures in degrees Plato, so if you want specific gravity then you need to multiply the answer by 4 then put a 1.0 in front. So for example, 12 Plato x 4 = 48, which gives you an original gravity of 1.048.

Hope this helps.

I personally like triple scale hydro meters.
If they're constructed well it takes the math out of single scale hydro meters that need conversion to specific gravity. I have two hydro meters. One is the cheaper triple scale and the other is a Proof and Tralle that rarely gets used.
