I'm looking to purchase a pressure kit to use for putting together a setup like this. What I've not found is how the plastic ball lock is attached to the lid. Per the item description, The kit inlcudes two plastic female threaded ball lock fittings with barbs, which thread onto the existing openings atop the FermZilla's lid.

From this I take it that I need a male thread. Please clue me in. thanks.

That would be the wrong kit, which is for a specific fermenter (Fermzilla), which has openings/threads to fit the parts in that kit.

To adapt a Fermonster lid, you'll need two ball lock post bulkheads...one for liquid and one for gas:

You'll also need a slightly longer dip tube for liquid side (so there's something sticking out to attach the hose to). This one looks like it's long enough:

Also, you'll need a hose and a float, which you can see here:

If you haven't already, be sure to read that entire Fermonster mod thread. There are lots of good tips in there.

You'll need bulkhead type ball lock fittings. Use a step drill bit for holes in plastic lids, for cleanest job. The holes are better a tad tight so the fittings almost have to be screwed in, to achieve a reliable seal every time. Don"t over tighten and distort the o-rings. Hand tight plus a little extra is best.

Thanks for the details. Much appreciated.

I will read the full mod thread, but admit to itching to get parts on order 1st.

I didn't do the price comparisons, but I have this kit that uses a better bulkhead design. The orings are captured in a groove in the base fitting.

That base groove looks like a really good idea. Tell me that the O-rings are a standard size (and what that size is), and I will immediately buy a set, plus an extra gas bulkhead.

It's a #111 like the keg post.

Perfect! Bulkhead/diptube set and additional gas bulkhead ordered. If the captured O-ring design works out, no more eyeballing/second guessing the "squeeze-out." Thanks Sir.
